Trips: dOCUMENTA 13, KASSEL | International Business School Blog

During the period of July 12-16, 2012, the?BAAM?students together with other representatives of Hungarian art institutions visited one of the most awaited events in the art world- the?Kassel?Documneta.?Documenta?is one of the most significant contemporary art exhibitions and events in the world, which is organized in every five years since 1955 in Germany. The team of?IBS?students spent 5 days in the 13th?exhibition of?documneta?getting acquainted with the novelties in art.??In addition to that?IBS?students spread their Hungarian connections in the field of art and made new friends from Hungarian University of Fine Arts and Department of Art Management?University of?P?cs.

The intensive program gave opportunities to students to visit all the exhibition spaces, witness real-life performances and take their times in watching the art-films.?Especially, Arts management students of?IBS?singled out two works:

Leaves of Grass by Geoffrey Farmer: an endless installation of cut out from the LIVE magazine, which give an impression?of a randomly assembled mass of faces, animals and objects. The work impresses by its dimensions, work content and its relevance to the current world of mass media.

Walid?Raad?s ??Scratching on Things I Could Disavow? , a series of one-hour?walkthroughs?for visitors guided by the artist through his installation of miniature artworks. The project evokes ideas of the art history of Arab world ,its present and future, and oscillates between fact and fiction, documentation and interpretation.

The Arts Management students would like to thank all who participated in the organization of this trip and is aware to share their emotions and captions on the Arts Management?Facebook?page
