(AP) ? A Hong Kong reporter briefly threw Chinese President Hu Jintao's tightly scripted visit to the semiautonomous city off course Saturday by asking about the 1989 military crackdown on protesters in Tiananmen Square.

The reporter for the Apple Daily newspaper said he was detained for about 15 minutes after the incident by three to four security officers, who told him he was too noisy and had broken rules. Other reporters also shouted questions to Hu, but they weren't detained.

Hu was touring a new cruise ship terminal when the reporter shouted out a question to him from behind a security cordon.

"President Hu, have you heard that Hong Kong people hope to reverse the verdict of June 4?" the reporter, Hon Yiu-ting, asked. "Have you heard?"

Many in Hong Kong have long called for Beijing to overturn its condemnation of the weekslong 1989 pro-democracy protests that the military crushed on the night of June 3-4, killing hundreds, possibly thousands. On mainland China, dissidents, intellectuals, relatives of the victims and even ordinary citizens also have called for a reassessment of the incident, though their voices are usually muffed because of government censorship.

Hu did not respond to the reporter's question and it's not clear whether he even heard it. The encounter was shown on local television.

Saturday's incident was one small flaw in a carefully orchestrated visit by Hu that underscores the widening tensions between Hong Kong and its mainland rulers 15 years after the end of British rule. Hu is on a three-day visit to the southern Chinese financial hub to mark the handover's anniversary on Sunday.

While the visit is aimed at emphasizing strengthening ties and coincides with a raft of measures to boost Hong Kong's economy with the mainland's help, stark differences remain. Hong Kongers have grown increasingly uneasy about life under Beijing's rule and the mainland's growing influence on the territory.

A group of pro-democracy protesters scuffled with police on Saturday, with the two sides pushing and shoving on metal crowd-control barricades outside the hotel and conference center where Hu was scheduled to attend a concert. Police used pepper spray on the demonstrators, who had been corralled into a small protest zone across the street from the site. The protesters were far outnumbered by hundreds of police ringing the venue.

"We want Hu Jintao hear from us," said Lee Cheuk-yan, a pro-democracy lawmaker who helped organize the protest. The group wanted to give Hu a letter outlining their concerns about the death of Li Wangyang, a labor activist released from a Chinese prison last year whose death in June was initially labeled a suicide. Activists said years of beatings and mistreatment had taken such a toll on his body that he would not have been able to kill himself that way.

"We are demanding to investigate the truth behind his death and release his family. People in Hong Kong are very angry," said Lee.

Under Hong Kong's mini-constitution, the city is guaranteed until 2047 a high degree of autonomy and Western-style civil liberties not seen on the mainland, such as freedom of speech.

Hu's visit is also intended as a sign of support for Hong Kong's incoming leader, known as the chief executive. Pro-democracy protesters are planning to rally again Sunday outside the exhibition center, where Hu will oversee Leung Chun-ying's inauguration, but heavy security means it's unlikely he'll see them.

CONNECTING WITH YOUR SPIRITUAL SOURCE: |

Connecting with your Spiritual Source

Author: Roseanna Leaton

In the Western world we have moved further and further away from the examination of mental processes and how they impact upon the way in which our lives unfold.? This can be seen in many areas of our lives; we abrogate responsibility for how we feel to circumstances, other people ? anything and everything other than ourselves and how we think.

Take health, for example.? We constantly look for a physical cause and not a mental one, when in fact both physical and mental forces are likely to be working together to effect a physical symptom.? Depression can be caused just as easily by how you think about things as by a chemical trigger in your brain.? The two causes tend to be intertwined.? But it is less painful to go to the doctor for pills than it is to take the time to introspect and examine ones thoughts and feelings or to face the reality of one?s circumstances; or is it less painful?? In the short term perhaps this is the case, but in the long term I very much doubt it.

And if we ignore the mental, we completely bury the spiritual.? We all too easily close our minds off to this seemingly intangible aspect of the universe in which we reside.? And yet, we do pay some lip service to spiritual wisdom.? Most of us accept the truth in the quotes from the ancient Greeks, Buddha or other sages.? Even those who are ?non-believers? are happy to listen to such pearls of wisdom and accept them as the truth, whilst closing their minds to the real source of such wisdom.

In the Eastern world spirituality has been preserved throughout the centuries.? And in the West, there is clearly a gradual return of spiritual awareness which can be seen in the volume of contemporary books being written on the subject and also the content of numerous television documentaries. I myself notice it in the growing number of people who purchase?hypnosis?downloads and hypnosis recordings relating to matters of spirituality.

Why is it so important that we grow in?spiritual awareness?? We are all multidimensional beings.? We are mind, body and spirit.? Everything in life is made up of energy and has its own energy frequency.? Everything and everyone has their own electromagnetic field.? We send out electrical frequencies through our very thoughts and we correspondingly magnetize electrical frequencies into our lives.

You can choose to add more power to your thoughts as you tap into the power of the universe.? Some people refer to this as the collective unconscious, others think of it more in terms of a higher being.? This is not at cross purposes with any religion or faith you may have.? Every religion agrees that there is a higher being, a source of all things, and you can approach spirituality in the light of your particular faith.? If you are not of any particular religion you can?applyspirituality in a manner which is comfortable to you ? be it thinking in terms of the collective unconscious, or a higher being.

Most of us are very set in our beliefs and do not question things enough.? People are far more comfortable seeking a physical cause as opposed to a psychological one ? let alone a spiritual one.? Yet to ignore your spirit being, you ignore the real you.? Your spirit is where your inner wisdom comes from.? It is your higher self.? You can easily tap into your spiritual side, and in so doing you will become more aligned and in tune with source, with the higher you.

There are certain laws of the universe which, once you are aware of them, you can choose to consciously apply.? Sometimes this is called cosmic ordering.? From a scientific viewpoint, your thoughts have energy, and as you focus on something and energize that thought with a lot of emotion and are consistent in your thoughts, you will magnetize what you want into your reality.? From a spiritual perspective, as you ask the universe, the collective unconscious, the higher source for something, and believe that it will be provided, and are again consistent in your thoughts, the universe will make it happen.

A journey into spirituality will allow you to feel more in tune with your higher self, to feel aligned with source.? You will feel that you can open your mind more to your inner wisdom and to the wisdom of the universe; you will find your true self, and your purpose and inspiration in life.? As you pay attention to your spirit self and acknowledge who you really are you will experience an incredible feeling of freedom, inspiration and purpose in your life.

As you allow yourself to entertain the realms of spirituality you will feel that you have moved from damp darkness into warm bright sunlight.

Ottawa Has Had Pension Talks With Air Canada

The Canadian government has had discussions with Air Canada on extending a moratorium on the airline making payments to erase its huge pension deficit and the issue needs to be resolved over the next couple of years, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Thursday.

The current moratorium expires in January 2014, but the estimated deficit doubled during 2011 to CAD$4.4 billion (USD$4.3 billion) at the start of 2012, and there is now discussion about extending the moratorium to 2024.

"The pension liabilities are enormous so it's a challenge for the airline," Minister Jim Flaherty told a news conference in Ireland when asked if Air Canada, the country's biggest airline, was in such bad shape that it would fail without a moratorium on its pension payments.

"Over the course of the next couple of years there needs to be a resolution of the pension issues," he said.

Flaherty said the government would monitor negotiations going on now between the airline and some of its unions.

Its biggest union, representing mechanics and baggage handlers, issued a news release last week supporting the company and asking the government to extend pension plan relief until 2024. In return, the airline agreed to remove a 3 percent benefit reduction.

Flaherty also said a solution would require the approval of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions Julie Dickson and retired pensioners.

Air Canada spokesman Peter Fitzpatrick said last week that the company was looking at various strategies to manage potential pension-deficit payments beyond January 2014.

Q&A: New sanctions targeting Iranian oil

(AP) ? The U.S. and Europe want to deprive Iran of the oil income it needs to run its government and, most importantly, fund what they believe is an effort to build a nuclear weapon. Their efforts are entering a new phase this week.

The U.S. as of Thursday will penalize banks that do oil deals with Iran, while European nations will embargo imports of Iranian oil starting Sunday.

These measures were announced in December and January, but lawmakers gave countries and the oil markets until this week to adjust.

Iran initially responded by threatening to block key oil routes. Oil soared over $100 per barrel as traders imagined an oil market straining to meet growing demand from China while only getting a trickle of oil from the world's third largest exporter.

Those fears have evaporated.

Iran hasn't capitulated on its nuclear ambitions but it has taken part in negotiations. World economic growth has slowed, reducing demand for oil to make fuels for transportation. Saudi Arabia and other nations boosted crude production in anticipation of lost Iranian supplies, contributing to a 25 percent plunge in oil prices since May 1. And oil buyers have had months to secure oil from other sources.

"Customers have gotten themselves in a good position to handle it," said ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson Wednesday.

Still, there is the possibility of at least temporary supply disruptions when the European embargo takes effect July 1. "What happens day of is hard to predict," Tillerson said.

But Michael Lynch, President of Strategic Energy and Economic Research, thinks it will be a "non-event." Countries that plan to honor the embargo "have already done so," he says.

Indeed, U.S. officials say Iran's oil exports and revenue are already down sharply. Iran generated $100 billion in revenue from oil last year, up from $20 billion a decade ago, according to IHS CERA, an energy consulting firm.

Iran has warned that the embargo could boost the price of oil. But the market is so flush with oil at the moment that even the loss of more Iranian crude may not lead to short supplies and higher prices. In fact, if Iran figures out a way to get around the sanctions and get more of its oil to market ? a real possibility ? oil prices could fall further.

Here are key questions and answers about the West's new sanctions and what they could mean for energy markets:

Q: What are the sanctions and when do they go into effect?

A: The U.S., which does not purchase Iranian oil, announced sanctions in December that would prohibit the world's banks from completing oil transactions with Iranian banks. That would make it more difficult for Iran to sell its crude on the open market. The oil in a single tanker can be worth $100 million. The U.S. sanctions took effect Thursday.

Europe announced in January it would prohibit imports of Iranian crude by July 1. It had been satisfying about 3 percent of its demand with oil from Iran. Europe also is prohibiting firms from insuring shipments of Iranian oil.

Q: What has been Iran's role in the world oil market?

A: In recent years, Iran has exported 2.5 million barrels of oil per day, about 3 percent of world supplies. About 500,000 barrels have gone to Europe and most of the rest to China, India, Japan and South Korea.

Iranian fields produce a type of oil known as heavy, sour crude. This is a common type of crude that contains more sulfur than so-called light, sweet crude. Heavy crudes are harder and more expensive to refine into valuable fuels such as gasoline and therefore generally command a lower price.

Q: What have been the effects of the sanctions so far?

A: U.S. officials say Iran's oil exports have declined to less than 1.8 million barrels per day, a drop of 700,000 barrels per day. At today's oil prices, the reduction is costing Iran $63 million per day. Even importers who want to buy Iranian oil have found it difficult because they haven't been able to buy insurance for oil shipments. Iran has kept up its oil production even as sales have dropped, leading to soaring levels of oil in storage.

Q: Can countries buy Iranian oil and still avoid the sanctions?

A: Yes. The State Department has announced that China, India, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Taiwan have received waivers from the U.S. in exchange for "significantly reducing" oil imports. They will be able to continue to import some Iranian oil. Ten European countries have also received waivers, but they will not be allowed to import Iranian oil beginning July 1 anyway.

Also, countries could trade with Iran outside of the traditional banking system. Iran could accept hard assets such as gold for its oil, though that would be inefficient and risky.

Q: Will the sanctions work?

A: They have already significantly reduced Iran's oil sales. At the same time, the drop in global oil prices has reduced Iran's income from the oil it is still selling. This combination of lower sales and lower prices is stretching Iran's finances. Iran has re-engaged in nuclear talks with the West, but they have not been successful. In fact, Iran has insisted that the U.S. and Europe ease the sanctions before it will make any concessions with its nuclear program.

traffic violation question, failure to stop at a stop sign - Askinglaw

Today, my sister got a ticket that said ?failure to stop at a stop sign?. Here is some back ground. My sister has had a perfect driving history the past 15 years. Not one violation. When she moved to this city, the school cop hated her son and step daughter. Well my sister and her husband have gotten pulled over 2 times just by him. Well she got a ticket this time. I was in the car with her. She pulled to the stop sign slowed down to where she was barley moving, saw no one was coming, and took off. The cop pulled her over about half a mile away after that and gave her a ticket. at first he said you slowed then took off but wrote the ticket as she failed to stop which i think means that she didn?t even slow down she just ran straight through. she doesn?t want a dumb ticket on a record like this because she did nothing wrong. its the cop. what can she do? can she win in court?

Biologists reveal potential 'fatal flaw' in iconic sexual selection study

ScienceDaily (June 26, 2012) ? A classic study from more than 60 years ago suggesting that males are more promiscuous and females more choosy in selecting mates may, in fact, be wrong, say life scientists who are the first to repeat the historic experiment using the same methods as the original.

In 1948, English geneticist Angus John Bateman published a study showing that male fruit flies gain an evolutionary advantage from having multiple mates, while their female counterparts do not. Bateman's conclusions have informed and influenced an entire sub-field of evolutionary biology for decades.

"Bateman's 1948 study is the most-cited experimental paper in sexual selection today because of its conclusions about how the number of mates influences fitness in males and females," said Patricia Adair Gowaty, a distinguished professor of ecology and evolutionary biology at UCLA. "Yet despite its important status, the experiment has never been repeated with the methods that Bateman himself originally used, until now.

"Our team repeated Bateman's experiment and found that what some accepted as bedrock may actually be quicksand. It is possible that Bateman's paper should never have been published."

Gowaty's study was published June 11 in the online edition of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and is scheduled for publication in an upcoming print edition.

The original experiment on Drosophila melanogaster, also known as the common fruit fly, was performed by creating multiple, isolated populations with either five males and five females or three of each gender in a jar. The insects mated freely in the experimental populations, and Bateman examined the children that made it to adulthood. To count the number of adult offspring engendered by each of his original insect subjects, Bateman needed a reliable way to match parents with children.

Nowadays, modern geneticists would use molecular evidence to determine the genetic parentage of each child, but DNA analysis was not available in the 1940s. Instead, Bateman chose his initial specimens carefully, selecting D. melanogaster flies that each had a unique, visible mutation that could be transferred from parent to child, Gowaty said.

The mutations were extreme. Some of the flies had curly wings, others thick bristles, and still others had eyes reduced in size to narrow slits. The outward differences in each breeding subject allowed Bateman to work backward to determine the parentage of some of the fly progeny and to document each mating pair among the original insects. A child with curly wings and thick bristles, for example, could only have come from one possible pairing.

Yet Bateman's method, which was cutting-edge for its time, had a "fatal flaw," according to Gowaty.

Imagine the child of a curly-winged mother and an eyeless father. The child has an equal chance of having both mutations, only the father's mutation, only the mother's mutation or no mutation at all. In order to know who mated with whom, Bateman used only the children with two mutations, because these were the only ones for which he could specifically identify both the mother and father. But by counting only the children with two mutations, Bateman probably got a skewed sample, Gowaty said. In repeating Bateman's experiment, she and her colleagues found that the flies with two severe mutations are less likely to survive into adulthood.

Flies use their wings not only to hover but also to sing during courtship, which is why curly wings present a huge disadvantage. Specimens with deformed eyes might have an even tougher time surviving. The 25 percent of children born with both mutations were even more likely to die before being counted by Bateman or Gowaty.

"It's not surprising that the kids died like flies when they got one dramatic mutation from mom and another dramatic mutation from dad," she said.

Gowaty found that the fraction of double-mutant offspring was significantly below the expected 25 percent, which means Bateman would have been unable to accurately quantify the number of mates for each adult subject. Further, his methodology resulted in more offspring being assigned to fathers than mothers, something that is impossible when each child must have both a father and a mother, Gowaty said.

Bateman concluded that male fruit flies produce many more viable offspring when they have multiple mates but that females produce the same number of adult children whether they have one mate or many. But Gowaty and her colleagues, by performing the same experiment, found that the data were decidedly inconclusive.

In their repetition -- and possibly in Bateman's original study -- the data failed to match a fundamental assumption of genetic parentage assignments. Specifically, the markers used to identify individual subjects were influencing the parameters being measured (the number of mates and the number of offspring). When offspring die from inherited marker mutations, the results become biased, indicating that the method is unable to reliably address the relationship between the number of mates and the number of offspring, said Gowaty. Nonetheless, Bateman's figures are featured in numerous biology textbooks, and the paper has been cited in nearly 2,000 other scientific studies.

"Here was a classic paper that has been read by legions of graduate students, any one of whom is competent enough to see this error," Gowaty said. "Bateman's results were believed so wholeheartedly that the paper characterized what is and isn't worth investigating in the biology of female behavior."

Repeating key studies is a tenet of science, which is why Bateman's methodology should have been retried as soon as it became important in the 1970s, she said. Those who blindly accept that females are choosy while males are promiscuous might be missing a big piece of the puzzle.

"Our worldviews constrain our imaginations," Gowaty said. "For some people, Bateman's result was so comforting that it wasn't worth challenging. I think people just accepted it."

Shaking the foundation

Biologists studying sexual selection examine mating habits of organisms ranging from fruit flies to gorillas, both in the lab and in the wild, in order to better understand how certain traits or behaviors confer evolutionary advantages.

Sexual selection began as a discipline following Charles Darwin's publication of "The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex," considered Darwin's defense against critics of his theory of evolution through natural selection. He argued that while the unwieldy, colorful tails of peacocks hindered flight and made males easy targets for hungry tigers, the flamboyant plumage served a vital role in attracting potential mates. The overdressed birds had an unexpected evolutionary advantage that did not help when it came to escaping predators but did help when it came to producing offspring through sexual selection, said Gowaty.

Darwin, and later Bateman, cleaved to the notion that females of a species tended to be discriminating and passive, while the far more promiscuous males competed for their attentions. In the last few decades, however, evolutionary biologists have shown that the story is far more complicated. Gowaty, who has been interested in female mating habits in insects and birds since the beginning of her career, spent 30 years in the field studying Eastern bluebirds. She published the first molecular genetics study showing that females in a socially monogamous species mated outside their traditional pairs regularly.

Gowaty describes the benefits of multiple mates as an answer to the never-ending evolutionary struggle against what may be the world's greatest predator: disease.

"Our pathogens have much shorter generation times than we do as the hosts, and they evolve offenses much more rapidly than we can evolve defenses," she said. "One of the rules of nature is that our pathogens are going to get us."

In this illness-driven arms race, organisms that produce offspring from multiple mates are more likely to produce some children with the right antibodies to survive the next generation of viruses, bacteria and parasites. Fruit fly males are likely to give females the additional variation in the genome that they need to build strong immune systems in their kids, Gowaty said.

For Gowaty, there are many open questions remaining when it comes to female mating habits, whether in fruit flies or other organisms. Yet shaking the bedrock of the Bateman paradigm may help the field examine new perspectives.

"Paradigms are like glue, they constrain what you can see," she said. "It's like being stuck in sludge -- it's hard to lift your foot out and take a step in a new direction."

Former Penn State University assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, center, leaves the Centre County Courthouse in custody with Centre County Sheriff Denny Nau, left, after being found guilty of multiple charges of child sexual abuse in Bellefonte, Pa., Friday, June 22, 2012. Sandusky was convicted of sexually assaulting 10 boys over 15 years, accusations that had sent shock waves through the college campus known as Happy Valley and led to the firing of Penn State's beloved Hall of Fame coach, Joe Paterno. (AP) ? Jerry Sandusky's son told police he was sexually abused starting when he was 8, a decade before the former Penn State assistant football coach adopted him, according to a police interview recording obtained by NBC News.

Matt Sandusky, who was adopted by Jerry Sandusky as an adult, described for investigators showering with the ex-coach and trying to avoid being groped in bed. He also said he was undergoing therapy, that his memories of abuse were only now surfacing and that he was coming forward so his family would know what happened.

"If you were pretending you were asleep and you were touched or rubbed in some way you could just act like you were rolling over in your sleep, so that you could change positions," the now-33-year-old Matt Sandusky said in an excerpt played Tuesday on NBC's "Today."

His attorneys confirmed the recording's authenticity to The Associated Press.

"Although the tape was released without Matt's knowledge or permission, it illustrates that he made the difficult decision to come forward and tell the painful truth to investigators despite extraordinary pressure to support his father," lawyers Justine Andronici and Andrew Shubin wrote in a statement.

The same lawyers issued a statement Thursday saying Matt Sandusky had been abused and had spoken to investigators during his father's trial. The next day, Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 criminal counts stemming from the abuse of 10 boys, all of whom he met through his charity for at-risk youth, The Second Mile.

Matt Sandusky met the man who would eventually adopt him through the same organization.

Jerry Sandusky, who has five other adopted children, hasn't been charged with abusing his son.

Matt Sandusky sat with the ex-coach's wife, Dottie, on the first day of the trial, but left after hearing one of the accusers testify. His attorneys have said he reached out to them while the trial was under way, saying he wanted to talk to prosecutors.

Messages left for Sandusky's other children were not returned.

On the police recording, Matt Sandusky says he was sexually abused off and on between the ages of 8 and 15. While being questioned by an investigator, he says Jerry Sandusky would blow raspberries on his stomach and touch his genitals.

Those acts were similar to ones described by other victims who testified against Sandusky.

One of the accusers also said Matt Sandusky was living at the Sandusky home at the time he stayed there overnight and testified that Jerry Sandusky came into the shower with the two boys and "started pumping his hand full of soap." Matt Sandusky shut off the shower and left, appearing nervous, the witness said.

In the recorded interview, Matt Sandusky was asked if he recalled engaging in oral sex or being raped by the former Penn State coach, Matt Sandusky says "at this point I don't recall that."

He is heard on the tapes as saying that he had tried to escape from Sandusky and also had attempted suicide at one point.

"I know that I really wanted to die at that point in time," he said.

Matt Sandusky's abuse allegations date as far back as the late 1980s, about a decade before the allegations on which Jerry Sandusky was tried.

Last week, Travis Weaver, now 30, told NBC he was abused by Sandusky as early as 1992. His lawyer, Jeff Anderson, said he represents more Sandusky victims that have not yet gone public.

The attorney general's office declined to comment about Matt Sandusky's claims or whether they would result in more charges. Attorney General Linda Kelly has maintained that the investigation into Sandusky is ongoing.

Matt Sandusky was prepared to testify against his father, lawyers have said. Defense attorney Joe Amendola has said that prosecutors told the defense that if Jerry Sandusky took the stand, Matt Sandusky would have been called as a rebuttal witness.

Another defense attorney, Karl Rominger, told the AP he and Amendola heard the tape before deciding not to put Jerry Sandusky on the stand.

He said that Matt Sandusky, on the tape, makes "allegations that directly contradicts sworn testimony .... directly contradicts police statements he'd given previously, directly contradicts public statements and absolutely contradicts everything his family knows."

A message seeking comment from Amendola was left by AP on Tuesday at his office.

Afterward, Judge John Cleland issued an order prohibiting the defense attorneys from disclosing any material given to them by prosecutors that was not introduced at trial. It also gave Sandusky's attorneys 10 days to provide the court with an inventory of all discovery materials that were distributed to any member of the defense team or other person.

Explaining why he decided to come forward after publicly standing by his dad, Matt Sandusky said it was for his family, "so that they can really have closure and see what the truth actually is. And just to right the wrong, honestly, of going to the grand jury and lying."

Jerry Sandusky, 68, is under observation at the Centre County jail, where he is being kept away from other inmates pending a psychological review that will help determine the next step toward his sentencing in about three months.

Rominger said Sandusky is adamant about his innocence.

Galveston picks new mayor in runoff

Retired businessman Lewis Rosen became Galveston?s new mayor on Saturday, beating out incumbent Joe Jaworski in a heated runoff election.

Rosen, 69, was elected with about 57 percent of the vote, while Jaworski, who was elected in 2010, came in with about 43 percent. A total of 6,625 voters cast ballots.

In a runoff for the Island?s City Council District 4 position, Norman Pappous defeated incumbent Dianna D. Puccetti.

Pappous, currently a Galveston ISD trustee, declared on his Facebook page: ?District 4 has WON!!?

This year, candidates? campaigns centered on a state-negotiated agreement with the Galveston Housing Authority that committed the city to the rebuilding of 569 public housing units damaged on Galveston Island by Hurricane Ike in 2008. Those units were later demolished.

Jaworski and Puccetti supported GHA?s plan to replace them with mixed-income development public housing.

However, Rosen argued that the city should fight the agreements. Instead, he supports using housing vouchers, known as Section 8 vouchers, that would allow low-income residents to rent an apartment.

Rosen could not be reached for comment late Saturday.

Another runoff election occurred Saturday in Pearland for the City Council Position 4. Keith Ordeneaux won with 964 votes while Tammy Dexter received 571, according to unofficial results.

?Thank you for all your support and help,? Ordeneaux wrote on his Facebook page. ?I could not have done it without you.?

67 Year Old Fitness Fan Comments on Senior Health and Fitness ...

First of all, this is almost certainly not the absolute best elliptical on the market, but I have decided to review it here for three major reasons:

1. The Weslo Momentum CT 5.0 Elliptical has among the highest user reviews whereever I find it being sold.

2. It is readily available as it is sold at most Walmart stores and in other venues, including online.

3. It is within most people's budget for exercise equipment as it is presently available for just under $300.00.

icon icon

One warning: I write this blog mainly for senior exercise enthusiasts and assume that most readers are not exercise fanatics but are primarily interested in doing regular moderate exercise to remain healthy. If you are someone who wants to train for marathons and do extreme workouts on an elliptical each day, you will need a higher end model.

That having been said, I would like to add that elliptical trainers are excellent for senior exercisers due to their low-impact nature.

Now, about the Weslo Momentum CT 5.0 Elliptical.

Customer Satisfaction:

While I do not own one, I have tried one out and was personally satisfied with the operation, structure, and features. In looking at customer reviews, I found that the Weslo Momentum CT 5.0 Elliptical consistently gets the highest ratings from its owners.
